Discussion: Improving SEO for Your Website
What is SEO?
SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization. This is a very broad topic that can be covered quite extensively, but the idea revolves around how to get on top of search results in an engine like Google. A study by BrightEdge showed that 51 percent of all website traffic comes from searches, which means someone has to type in specifically what they are looking for on a search engine to get to what they are looking for. 10 percent comes from paid ads, 5 percent from social and 34 percent from all other sources such as email or network marketing.
What is it about?
SEO has many different subtopics, such as a simple search engine to access your website, keyword optimization, compelling content and load time optimization. Keyword optimization refers to using the proper keywords that people are searching for, this will help you show on top of an engine like Google. Load time optimization can also affect SEO, you want to make sure your images and websites are loading fast. When you search for something on Google, the top result will be an ad. This ad is controlled by the company through Google Ads, for which that company pays for each click by prospects. Underneath this you will notice regular website results where your SEO comes in. There are different aspects to this as well. Domain authority gives certain websites the higher ranking over others. They may have more content relating to what the user searched for, amongst various other factors.
How to get started?
The first step is to get found. Google uses Search Console that gives different website traffic metrics. You can see what keywords people are using to get to your website. Search Console can be integrated with Google Analytics as well. The next thing you need to do is create helpful content for users. When people spend more time on your website, Google sees that there’s useful information available for viewing, which helps with higher ranking. Creating a great user experience and appearance is very important, such as having a fast or appealing website.

Is there a tool that can manage each search console in one view?
We are not familiar with such a tool. If anyone is aware of one, please share in the comment!
Setting up Google and Bing Search Console only takes a few minutes, however. Once you set up your Sitemap and share with these tools, the processes is pretty much all automated. There are marketing companies who manage these, of course, if you don’t want to manage it yourself.
What is lazy-loading and how is it done?
This is a topic that can get very involved. On a quick note, lazy load basically means you are going to load images after the page is already loaded. From a video perspective, you can load an image to cover up the video, then load video in the background. This doesn’t affect the load time of your website which the SEO takes into account. There are many plugins that can help you do this: WP Rocket Lazy Load is a good option.
Can you optimize an image for email signatures?
Yes absolutely. Ideally you would want your image to have a max width of 1000 pixels. You can use TinyPNG to compress your image.
Are there any websites that shows effective keywords for search engines?
Are keywords related to hashtags?
They are technically different, but they do similar things. Just like people are searching for keywords on Google, people can find your content on social media through hashtags.
